What is a Gatsby Cap?
The Gatsby Cap is a modified form of the peaked cap. It got its name from the world-famous film The Great Gatsby - a film in which everything seems pompous and noble and in the middle of the action Robert Redford can be seen wearing a peaked cap.
The headpiece, which is slightly pie-shaped due to the panels, resembles that of the balloon cap, but less voluminous, although the peak is sewn tightly to the cap fabric that overhangs the front, rather like the slider cap, and thus the headpiece and peak merge smoothly.- 100% Linen
