The magazine bauhaus now explores the question of where, in what form and under which conditions the Bauhaus is still perceptible as an idea and role model - and what relevance, relevance and validity it still has today. This series brings together international actors who deal with issues of design and urban planning: designers and architects, artists and researchers, critics and utopians. What are the big design tasks and problems in the 21st century? What are designers working on today? What are you dreaming of? What challenges do you face? Does the holistic approach of the Bauhaus still provide solutions for the future?

The first issue of the magazine is dedicated to the basic attitude of modernity, its "mindset", its creative spirit. The magazine leads from the "Bauhaus Myth" to the "Bauhaus as Phenomenon" to the idea and vision that the Bauhaus has borne and has kept alive to this day.

bauhaus now - The official magazine for the Bauhaus anniversary 2019, Issue 1 (November 2017)

Edited by Annemarie Jaeggi (Bauhaus Archive / Museum of Design, Berlin), Claudia Perren (Bauhaus Dessau Foundation) and Wolfgang Holler (Klassik Stiftung Weimar) for 100 years of the Bauhaus, Bauhaus Verbund 2019, Weimar.

Bauhaus Store Weimar
The legendary design school, the Bauhaus, was founded in 1919 in Weimar. Architects and artists such as Gropius, Feininger, Klee, Itten and many more were there from the beginning and shaped a then revolutionary understanding of new architecture, design and art in all fields.

Today, the Bauhaus is part of 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Weimar. The Klassik Stiftung Weimar owns the oldest collection of Bauhaus exhibits worldwide - and a new Bauhaus Museum is currently being built in Weimar, which will open its doors in spring 2019 for its 100th anniversary.

As a subsidiary company of Klassik Stiftung Weimar, we operate our own Bauhaus Store in a central location at the Weimar market place. An we look forward to the opening of the new museum, which of course will also receive an inspiring Museumshop.
