This rosé could become everybody's darling, especially when grilling, or at the beginning of autumn.
We are talking about a spicy cuvée made from Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Mitos. The expansion took place after the juice had been withdrawn from the red wine mash in barriques and in 500 liter wooden barrels, which gave it a fruity fragrance that was very slightly influenced by the wood. You can taste a lot of strawberries on the palate, yet it is made dry, with a fresh length, with style and line. The wood insert goes perfectly with this wine and gives it direction. Absolutely convincing drop due to its gentle smoke aromas and also a worthy evening companion for the transition in autumn!
Also pairs well with tomato pasta and homemade pizza.
Information about the winery: Christian Nett was awarded as the best young winemaker in Germany and best young winemaker in the Palatinate in 2015 and says himself about his wines. "Every wine, every vintage has its own personality, its individual style, its own story." In 2013 it was even honored in the Eichelmann.
The winery is located in the middle of the Palatinate in Duttweiler, a small wine village between Speyer and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. The foundation stone was laid in 1838 with the construction of the sandstone vaulted cellar. After an inheritance distribution in 1900, an adoption and marriage, the winery is now run by the fifth generation of the Nett family. At an altitude of 120-140 m above sea level, the vines grow here, embedded in an almost Mediterranean landscape, in which kiwis and figs, almonds and chestnuts also ripen. More than ten meters thick layers of soil mainly made of loess and clay with fine limestone veins shape the character of these wines.
Gentle and gentle pressing is also part of it, as is long storage on the fine lees so that the wines can develop even more complexity and character. In the wine cellar itself, there is calm, patience and restraint, so the wines unfold in all their nuances and facets.
Since 2011, Christian Nett has been using traditional methods again, as they were already in use with Senior Heinz Bergdolt-Reif. Some of the best vineyards today are cultivated exclusively with horse power. The soil remains looser and can breathe better. This benefits the quality of the grapes and ensures wines with a strong character.
