See the original textThe wine is named after the ground on which the vines grow; a mixture of slate and diabase with lots of fine soil. With yields of 40-50 hl / ha and the usual spontaneous fermentation with a subsequent 6-month Feinhefelager, we work out the peculiarity of this unique terroir. Juicy pineapple, peach and kräutrige flavors are characteristic of this location. Dry expanded, without steaming similar to lush alcohol, this Riesling combines strength, finesse and flavor play.
- Store Information
Viticulture has been part of our family for many generations. For us brothers, it was our grandparents who brought us closer to the "passion of vineyard work" in our early years. After our successful oenology studies in Geisenheim, we filled our first wines in 2012 and are now proud to own three hectares of vineyards in and around Wiltingen an der Saar.
Working close to the ground in the vineyard and cellar is our first priority and underpins our motto: "less is sometimes more" :) For example, no herbicides are used in the vineyards, but small sheep grazing the area under the vines, the wines are fermented with natural yeasts and no deacidification takes place. This allows the preservation of the site- and vintage-specific terroir and allows it to appear beautifully in our wines.
