The Bruichladdich 1985/32 Hidden Glory camped in
third fill bourbon casks, then became fresh bourbon barrels
refilled and then finished again in French oak.
22 barrels, 48.7%.
The second participant in Bruichladdich's Old and Rare series
was created from the 22 last barrels of the year 1985.
He is a 32 year old, matured in third fill Bourbon Casks
Single malt. The then Master Distiller Jim McEwan
was rediscovered in warehouse 14 and promptly in 2012
In first fill bourbon barrels was inserted for something else
To gain depth. 2017 got the whiskey in addition
a wine barrel finish in French oak.
The 32-year-old whiskey is limited to 4,200 bottles and
was bottled without cooling filtration and of course without dye addition.Nose: very fruity bouquet, after blood oranges, bananas and
Nectarines, paired with butter biscuits, vanilla,
Nuts, honey and floral notes.Palate: dense, present and yet silky soft texture,
with voluminous fruit, berry jelly, plums,
Nuts, coconuts and spicy coffee notes.Finish: long, fruit-worn finish.
