The Fürstenberg bust of 1784 served as a model for this bust of the statue of the Klassik Stiftung Weimar. She shows Anna Amalia at the age of 43. Portrait busts played a special role in the production of the manufactory at the end of the 18th century. They were characterized by surprising truth of life, fine characterization and excellent execution. Anna Amalia personally ensured that the portrait busts of her court sculptor Gottlieb Martin Klauer were models for the bust production of the manufactory and thus found widespread use.
