The "Stone of Good Luck" or "Altar of Agathe Tyche", which Goethe had set in 1777 next to his garden house in the Weimar Ilm meadows, was a birthday present for the twenty-eight-year-old to his "soulmate" Charlotte von Stein. Goethe chose a symbolic language of form for his monument: the solid stone cuboid embodies clarity, stability and stability. The sphere, on the other hand, belongs to the realm of the restless, the dynamic, the moody happiness.
If these two opposing elements are combined, they do not cancel each other out, but result in a new unity, a mobile order. Since Goethe himself renounced any inscription or explanation, the sandstone cube with the ball still leaves room for many interpretations.

The cultural heritage of the city of Weimar in Thuringia is diverse: Goethe, Schiller, Liszt, the Duchess Anna Amalia, Nietzsche and many more have lived here and left their mark. For example, Weimar has more than 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites, which are maintained by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and made accessible to the public.

The Klassik Shop Weimar is actually more than just one: We run all the museum shops for Klassik Stiftung Weimar, e.g. in the historic homes of Goethe and Schiller, in the Anna Amalia Library, and we also take care of the assortments in the museums of e.g. Liszt, Nietzsche and in the castles and parks of the city and its surroundings.
