The Liebhabertheater on Schloss Kochberg near Weimar
A unique gem is the Lieberthertheater, built by Carl von Stein around 1800, next to Schloss Kochberg, with which he created his own Musenhof on the estate in accordance with the Weimar model. The classical theater with its columned portico belongs to the European Route of Historic Theaters.
The stage and auditorium are festively decorated with hand-marbled paper wallpaper and floral borders. Today the Verein Liebhabertheater Schloss Kochberg-Theater has taken over the theater business for the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and invites to operas, theater performances and chamber concerts with renowned artists in the small authentic theater of the Goethe era from May to October the historical performance practice is laid.
