Guda Maria, the hugging one

This single-origin Arabica from Guatemala is the first that we have roasted ourselves and has always been the absolute favorite filter coffee of our boss and soul of the Maldaner coffee house: Renate, Guda Maria. Located on the eastern edge of the huge volcanoes of Central America, 82 farmers take care of the beans in the mountain village of Lampocoy and rely on natural cultivation. Traded directly, they get a price that is currently 40% above the world market level. With every sip, additional education, health and infrastructure projects are supported on site.

The coffee: 100% pure Arabica

Guda Maria is a really good one! Single variety favorite coffee of the Maldaner coffee house owner, of top quality. It convinces you with aromas of pecan, caramel and a light citrus note. The 100% Arabica beans of the Catuaí variety are organically grown and hand-picked in the small mountain village of Lampocoy in the Nuove Oriente region. The result is coffee beans of particularly high quality, which, when roasted medium light, produce a finely defined coffee with a full-bodied, silky mouthfeel and a slight sweetness. The coffee owes its clear taste nuances to its washed preparation.

The preparation: nutty filter favorite

Guda Maria comes as a nutty, mild filter coffee that impresses with its full-bodied body. Whether prepared in the hand filter, the French press or the Aeropress - Guda Maria is always a pleasure. This has made Guda Maria our most popular, classic filter coffee. But you can also try it as a mild espresso from the portafilter or espresso pot.

The origin: Direct Trade from Guatemala

Guda Maria is made from 100% Arabica coffee from Nuevo Oriente, Guatemala. Here it is grown organically by the 82 farmers in the mountain village of Lampocoy. On the eastern edge of the huge volcanoes of Central America and in the area of influence of the Atlantic trade winds, the coffee cherries of our Guda Maria ripen over a period of more than ten months in an optimal, cool and humid microclimate at an altitude of 1000 and 1500 m.

Guda Maria is a 100% direct trade coffee. The farmers receive a price that is currently 40% above the world market level. In addition, education, health and infrastructure projects are supported - for a long-term perspective for the residents and the mountain village.
