Details

Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) created the relief "H" in 1919, the founding year of the Bauhaus Weimar.
It can be understood as the ideal of an artistic figure developed by him. Man is the perfect expression of nature, mind and soul - on this ideological framework is based Schlemmer's entire theory of proportion and aesthetics. which consists of several interconnected systems.

His reliefs are particularly expressive of this thinking: Schlemmer saw them not as images but rather as "panels" (...) that go beyond the frame to connect with the wall and form part of the larger surface, the larger space than they do to become self (...) which would be the form and law of their larger environment. In this sense: tables of law. The form of man will always be the great parable of the artist «(quote Oskar Schlemmer).
This form of the human figure of man becomes the prototype of all figurines that appear as artistic figures in his main work, the triadic ballet, and other stage plays.
