The Danish 'Glerups family' have been making felt slippers from natural wool since 1993! The wool came from Gotland's own sheep. After the slippers were so well received by friends and family, the decision was made to start a small hobby production. That was the beginning of the company Glerups.dk! During production, the wool is not treated chemically, but naturally carefully - from the raw material to the finished product. The sheep are shorn twice a year. The wool is washed in soft water and, after drying, combed, then the cardboard is felted into boots in warm soapy water and then calfskin soles are glued on and sewn.
Natural materials, high-quality workmanship and minimalist design make this felt shoe uniquely beautiful. The wool felt keeps the feet warm and regulates the foot climate. The sole made of tanned calfskin or natural rubber is connected to the shoe with a decorative stitching and underlines the harmonious silhouette of the GIerup.
