Greatest Un Gift celebrates a colorful comeback

For the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in 2019, one of the most subdued objects of daily life in the sense of the Bauhaus is reinterpreted: socks. The idea for the Bauhausler ® comes from Weimar: Romi Klockau, an alumna of the Bauhaus University Weimar and actually graphic designer, wanted to offer a real product for a change and wished for the anniversary year a souvenir, what art and crafts in the best Bauhaus sense united and not dusted on the windowsill. She likes the moment of surprise and the subtle power that they unfold on socks: different socks always give the same outfit and its wearer a different effect.

The socks do not show their peculiarity. Only at second glance do you recognize all three primary colors of the Bauhaus in a sock: the inner cuff, the chained toe seam and the sock itself form the triad
Red, blue and yellow.

Bauhausler socks
in red (art. no. 5651), blue (art. no. 5652) and yellow (5653)
Material: 98% cotton, 2% spandex (cuffs)
Made in Central Germany

Store Information
Bauhaus Store Weimar
The legendary design school, the Bauhaus, was founded in 1919 in Weimar. Architects and artists such as Gropius, Feininger, Klee, Itten and many more were there from the beginning and shaped a then revolutionary understanding of new architecture, design and art in all fields.

Today, the Bauhaus is part of 11 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Weimar. The Klassik Stiftung Weimar owns the oldest collection of Bauhaus exhibits worldwide - and a new Bauhaus Museum is currently being built in Weimar, which will open its doors in spring 2019 for its 100th anniversary.

As a subsidiary company of Klassik Stiftung Weimar, we operate our own Bauhaus Store in a central location at the Weimar market place. An we look forward to the opening of the new museum, which of course will also receive an inspiring Museumshop.
