The Totora Masterweave Scarves from premium baby alpaca wool (Baby Alpaca is derived from the first fleece of an adult animal) belong to the master weaver collection of Threads of Peru. The millennia-old weaving patterns of the Inca culture make them an exclusive accessory that gives your outfit an authentic Peru touch!
The weavers live in the municipality of Tortora in the Sacred Valley near Cusco / Peru and have made these scarves from natural alpaca wool. The patterns reflect the living environment of the weavers and show, among other things, alpacas, owls, stars, Inca paths, flowers or lakes.
Tortora weavers have refined the old weaving art that has been handed down from generation to generation since the Inca period. They not only weave, but also make the yarn from the woolen fleece itself. Some weavers of the community can spin the alpaca thread as finely as it otherwise only with the machine processing succeeds.

Threads of Peru is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping weavers in the Cusco region, still mastering traditional weaving techniques, manufacture and distribute their products. Threads of Peru also advises weavers on new product development and tourist offer development. The organization is financed by donations, the weavers specify the pricing of their products themselves depending on the workload.
