The name Italian roast comes from the usual in South Italy, slightly darker roast for strong coffee and espresso. Originally the dark roast should cover defects of cheaper coffee varieties (Robusta). However, we use a mixture of fine, high-grown Grand Cru coffees with fullness and aroma mainly from Indonesia. The result is a balanced, deep and complex mix with noble wealth and intense, sweet, fruity and earthy, spicy flavors. We recommend our Italian roast for the preparation of an excellent espresso with much Crema or as a cappuccino, latte macchiato and a coffee.
